A fourth game in the saga for the Switch was announced in 2017 with Retro Studios currently handling development. The game, which differed from the previous four main Metroid franchise entries by offering a first-person perspective rather than a third-person style, was followed by "Metroid Prime 2: Echoes" for the GameCube in 2005 and "Metroid Prime 3: Corruption" for the Wii in 2007, the latter of which closed out the saga for the time being. A community who have been left to their own devices for so long finally have a fresh game to dig their teeth into. The Metroid Prime Remaster represents the other side of the video game remake: a grand overhaul of myriad aspects that takes a lot more legwork.
